The steps
Get on the same WiFi
Your phone, tablet or computer has to be on the same network as the LevelLink.
Find the device IP address
See below if you do not know it. The app shows it for your device.
Open it in a browser
Go to
http://<DEVICE_IP>/— for examplehttp://192.168.1.45/.Press Update Firmware
On the device page, press Update Firmware. A progress bar shows the download and install.
Wait for the reboot
Allow one to two minutes. Refresh the page afterwards and check the firmware version has changed.
Keep the device powered and on WiFi for the whole update. Your configuration — tank settings, calibration, WiFi details — is preserved.
Finding the device IP address
From the app (easiest)
Open the LevelLink app and read the IP address shown for your device. Enter that in your
browser as http://<IP>/.
From your WiFi router
- Open your router's admin page — often
http://192.168.0.1orhttp://192.168.1.1— and sign in. - Find the DHCP clients or connected devices list.
- Look for an entry named LevelLink, possibly with a suffix, and copy its IP address.
.local hostnames do not reliably open in browsers, and a web page cannot
scan your network for devices. Use the IP address.
If it does not work
- Recheck the IP address, and confirm your phone or computer is on the same WiFi.
- If the page becomes unresponsive during the update, wait 60 to 90 seconds and refresh — the device is busy writing and will come back.
- Power-cycle the device and try again if an update fails. A failed update leaves the existing firmware in place; it does not brick the unit.
- Managing several LevelLinks? The device page shows the Hardware ID and firmware version, so you can confirm you are on the right one.
What the update actually does
The device downloads the firmware image built for its exact hardware revision from the LevelLink servers and installs it over the air. It reboots once to finish. Your settings remain. Thanks for keeping your device current — it is the best thing you can do for stability and accuracy.
